This new tradition with the Turkey Chase challenges our runners to show their school spirit! When you register for any of our races, please select the high school you currently attend, previously attended or the one you like best. The school with the highest participation will receive a $1,000 scholarship, to be used at the discretion of the principal. The first place private school can win a $500 scholarship. Want to spread the word at your school? Contact Tracy.Miller@ymcadc.org for details.

The Final Public Schools Standings
The coveted Principal’s Prize award goes to the new Queen of the Public School Turkey Chasers, Jennifer “The Steamroller” Baker, principal of the undefeated Walter Johnson Wildcats! ( and the crowd goes wild!) The Wildcats finished out this year with 1177 runners! Just a little bit shy of last year’s record. Ms. Baker will be presented with the $1,000 Principal’s Prize check immediately following the race finish tomorrow morning. Be there to congratulate the Victorious Wildcats.

Those wild and crazy Frenchies from Forest Road in Bethesda SMASHED the private school record with a new total of 268 runners. My hat is off to the LYCéE ROCHAMBEAU – FRENCH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL. Come cheer on the French International School after the race as they receive their giant Principal’s Prize!
